I had a great stay at FFB recently. It's in a great location, only a short walk from the train station and our room was great. We were lucky with the weather whilst we were there but I loved that we had an electric blanket on the bed. A lot of the people staying in the hostel are working in Katoomba, they were very friendly and the hostel had a nice social vibe. Ross who runs the place was lovely and super helpful with anything we needed. You can tell he cares a lot about keeping the place nice and making sure guests are happy/comfortable. This is a small backpackers with a lot of charm. Simple, quirky and artsy with a friendly vibe. It's the small touches that make it special - breakfast is generous, the toilet roll is soft and double ply, nibbles are provided in the evenings. I'll be back!

Fiona and Ross are really pleasant and wonderful owners. They take care of you. Great for backpackers and also couples as well. Very convenient place close to the heart of Katoomba, its shopping centers, railway station and its eat streets. Beautiful property, very lively vibe. Best hostel I've lived in Hands down!! cant wait to come back again - Sai :)

Really nice and cozy hostel. Stayed in a private room for 3 nights which was spacious and had an electric blanket! There was a fire going every evening. The guests were all very friendly and had interesting stories. The owner Ross was a fantastic host and made free pizza one night 10/10. Would definitely recommend for solo travelers or small groups. I stayed here for 3 weeks in 2015 and looking at it now, its kept it's standards up. The owner who I think was called Ross or Rob was so friendly and helpful. They made family dinners like pizza and pasta night for a super cheap tiny fee, games nights and I think a free breakfast. He advised on where to go and what to do. This hostel had a no technology area for 2 hours a night which encouraged and helped everyone socialise and connect with each other . This hostel was so good I'm checking back on it 10 years later

I had a great time staying at Flying Fox Hostel. The atmosphere created by Ross (owner) is family like. If you are travelling and want to meet other travellers or just spend quality time with people, this is the right place to stay. Their is a common area where quests can spend time together. This is not a fancy hotel so do not expect much from the interior. Backapcker will find everything he needs there : ] If I am in Blue Mountains again I am definitely coming back there.

I stayed at The Flying Fox between hikes for a night during my time in the Blue Mountains. Ross(Owner) was extremely helpful and kind, thanks for the hiking recommendations! I can tell that the atmosphere is great if you want to socialise and meet other hikers/travellers.
